Our community is curious, generous, and quick to help. This code isn't here because we expect bad behavior; it's here so we all start from the same expectations, and so the room stays safe, open, and worth being in. It applies in all 2389-hosted or sponsored spaces, including our office, events, and associated online community spaces. By taking part, you agree to follow it. We expect everyone here — builders, hosts, sponsors, and guests alike — to: - **Be considerate.** Be respectful and collaborative in speech and actions, and actively acknowledge and respect the boundaries of other participants. - **Communicate well.** Use good judgment and communicate in a way that works for a group coming from many different backgrounds. - **Participate in good faith.** Show up as an equal, share openly what's working and what isn't, and help make the experience your own. - **Take care of each other.** Alert a 2389 team member or event host if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or a violation of this code — even if it seems inconsequential. - **Respect people's work.** Don't copy, screenshot, or share someone else's in-progress code, prompts, or ideas without their consent. Give credit. - **Ask before you capture.** Get consent before photographing, recording, or live-streaming someone or their screen. - **Respect privacy.** Follow the [Chatham House Rule](https://www.chathamhouse.org/about-us/chatham-house-rule): you may share ideas and information from these spaces, but do not identify who shared them or their affiliation without permission. Do not share private or sensitive information. ## Unacceptable Behavior We're committed to a welcoming, harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, age, or other aspects of identity. The following will not be tolerated, in person or online, including but not limited to: - Offensive or discriminatory comments, jokes, or imagery - Intimidation, stalking or unwanted following - Unwanted photography or recording of a person - Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention - Sustained disruption of events or conversations - Publishing or sharing private messages without consent Smaller things matter too: use the names and pronouns people share, avoid exclusionary jokes, and be thoughtful about language that can make others feel unwelcome. Everyone is held to the same standard, including 2389 team members, event hosts, sponsors, and guests. ## Reporting an incident If you are harassed, witness harassment, or have another concern, tell a 2389 team member or event host, or email [security@2389.ai](mailto:security@2389.ai) as soon as you can. Share what you can about what happened, when, and who was involved. A team member or host can document it with you. We'll handle reports with care and discretion, and be honest about what can remain anonymous. The well-being of the person affected comes first. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith or helps with a report is not tolerated. ## Enforcement 2389 team members and event hosts may take action to protect participants, including asking someone to stop, ending an activity, removing someone from an event or shared space, or restricting future participation.
